Mustang GTD's Nürburgring 1st Attempt

Ford recently rented out the Nürburgring with big plans for a timed sub-7-minute lap attempt, but things didn’t quite go as planned. The weather wasn’t suitable for that—cold, wet, and super windy—which completely threw off any chances of setting a sub-7-minute lap time.

Rumor has it that they’ll be back next year, but we’ll see. The conditions were so bad, Ford didn’t even bother trying for a full timed lap and instead just did a quick media lap, followed by a U-crane for some visuals.

Word from the paddock is that Ford might come back next year for another shot, since Nürburgring’s autumn weather is just too unpredictable to risk. So, it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see just how fast Ford’s latest beast can rip around the track!
