Bronco VS Cops, Dodge EV Police Cars, Ford Tunes Their Raptors!

Bronco Brawl with the Cops!

So, imagine this: you’re in a Tim Hortons drive-thru in Toronto, grabbing your morning coffee, when out of nowhere, a stolen Ford Bronco decides it’s going to make a grand escape by driving literally over cop cars. Yep, you read that right. This Bronco, which had been stolen weeks prior, was finally seen by its rightful owner, and when the police showed up, the driver wasn’t exactly going down quietly.

When the Bronco got trapped between two police vehicles, instead of taking a smarter way out (like, you know, reversing, or better yet just surrendering), the driver attempted to roll over one of the cruisers. With its rugged off-road build, the Bronco actually made it up onto the hood of one of the cop cars before things got dicey. It got stuck, as you'd expect, and police quickly shut down the escape attempt.

Here’s my two cents: It’s one thing to push the limits of your car, but this stunt? It’s just dumb. I get that the Bronco’s built for adventure, but maybe stick to trails, not cop cars and hot pursuits! In the end, the driver is now facing a pile of charges, and nobody’s walking away with a win here.

If you can’t out-drive the law in a fast-food drive-thru. Then maybe just shut off the engine next time and avoid this whole debacle.

Will the EV Dodge Replace the ICE Charger?

Dodge is shaking up with police cars with their latest development: the all-electric Charger Pursuit. it isn’t just another EV—it's set to replace the iconic gas-powered Chargers that have long ruled police fleets. With horsepower ranging from 456 to a wild 670, this new Charger Pursuit is packing serious power while also staying quiet and eco-friendly. Dodge has made it clear that it’s keeping the core DNA of what made the Charger so popular in law enforcement while embracing the future of electric vehicles.

Now, here’s where it gets interesting—imagine a high-speed chase where the cop car is dead silent, yet it's flying down the road with the same performance as a muscle car. Not sure I like that but we'll see. It's not just about saving on fuel or cutting emissions, but maintaining the toughness that cops need, and whether we like it or not sounds are a huge part of that. The big question though? Whether the infrastructure can keep up. Sure, urban areas might have the chargers, but what about small towns and rural areas? That could be a hurdle for departments wanting to switch to these EVs.

I think It’s interesting to say the least, seeing EVs as police cars, especially one that's as powerful as the Charger. But we'll see how things progress. Dodge's Charger EV Pursuit is probably going to pave the way for electric police fleets. It's fast, eco-friendly in a nutshell, and still packs that muscle-car punch. The only question now is whether the infrastructure can support this choice.

Ford Boosts their Raptors!

Ford just cranked things up a notch with a performance tune specifically for the Ranger and Bronco Raptors. If you thought these trucks were already fierce, this upgrade takes them to a new level, adding more horsepower and torque. The 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine now gets boosted to 455 horsepower and 536 lb-ft of torque—enough to make your off-road and towing adventures even more thrilling. This means quicker acceleration, better throttle response, and just an overall more aggressive feel behind the wheel. At $825, the price might seem steep, but considering you get a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty (if done at a certified dealer), it’s not a bad deal.

Now, here's where it gets fun. This tune makes a noticeable difference, especially for those who love pushing their trucks to the limit. The extra horsepower and torque aren't just for bragging rights; you’ll actually feel it on rugged trails or when towing. Plus, it’s backed by Ford, so you know it’s reliable. But if you’re in California, you’re out of luck (no surprise there am I right?) due to emissions regulations.

If you already own a Raptor, this performance upgrade sounds like a no-brainer—especially if you're the type to get out and really use your truck for more than just the commute. The pros? More power, more excitement, and you’re still under warranty. The downside? That price tag is a bit much if you’re not planning to make use of all that extra power. It’s a splurge, but for the right kind of driver, it’s worth it.
